Overview
DPIIT recognition under the Startup India initiative is the government's certification that your company is an innovation-driven startup. Recognised startups can access benefits that materially change early-stage economics: eligibility to apply for the income-tax holiday under Section 80-IAC, exemption from angel-tax scrutiny provisions as notified, self-certification under several labour and environment laws, faster trademark and patent processing at concessional fees, and access to the government's fund-of-funds and seed schemes.
Recognition is granted on an application that demonstrates innovation or improvement — DPIIT looks for a genuine explanation of what the business does differently, not a template pitch. ClearTLC's partner professionals draft the recognition writeup from your actual product and business model, assemble the incorporation and director documents, and file the application on the Startup India portal.
Eligibility is specific — the entity must be a private limited company, LLP or registered partnership, under ten years old, with turnover under ₹100 crore and not formed by splitting an existing business. We confirm eligibility during the callback before quoting, so you never pay for an application that cannot succeed.

Frequently asked questions
Which entities are eligible for DPIIT recognition?
Private limited companies, LLPs and registered partnership firms that are less than 10 years old, have turnover under ₹100 crore in any year, are working on innovation or improvement, and were not formed by splitting or reconstructing an existing business.
Does recognition automatically give the 80-IAC tax holiday?
No — recognition makes you eligible to apply. The 80-IAC exemption (three consecutive years of tax holiday out of your first ten) is a separate application to an inter-ministerial board, which we can also handle as a follow-on engagement.
What does DPIIT look for in the application?
A credible, specific explanation of innovation, improvement or scalable employment/wealth-creation potential. Generic descriptions are the main rejection cause, which is why we draft the writeup from your actual product rather than a template.
Is there a government fee?
No — DPIIT charges nothing for recognition. The only cost is the professional fee, quoted in writing after the eligibility check.
GST & invoicing: Invoiced under SAC 998216 (other legal services) with 18% GST on the professional fee.
