When can I use ™ and when can I use ®?
™ can be used as soon as your application is filed. ® is reserved for registered marks — using it before registration is an offence. Registration typically takes 8–18 months if no objections arise.
What is a trademark class and why does it matter?
The registry divides goods and services into 45 Nice classes; protection applies per class. Filing in the wrong class protects nothing, which is why classification by a professional is part of this service. Additional classes can be filed as separate applications.
How do I qualify for the ₹4,500 government fee instead of ₹9,000?
Individuals and sole proprietors qualify automatically; companies and LLPs qualify with an Udyam (MSME) certificate or DPIIT startup recognition. If you do not have one, our Udyam registration service pays for itself here.
What happens if the examiner objects to my application?

Does the search guarantee my mark will be registered?
No search can guarantee an outcome — the registry's examination is independent. The search report tells you the known risks up front so you can decide before paying government fees, which is materially better than filing blind.
How long does trademark protection last?
Ten years from the filing date, renewable indefinitely every ten years. We record the renewal date on your compliance calendar when your mark registers.
